Your beard keeps whatever the wash leaves behind, and this one leaves Moroccan argan. Sulfates are the first of six things the formula does without. The scent is the same Laurel & Incense you know from the oil, and one bottle covers your face, your beard, and the hair on your head.
Why the ends stay soft
Beard hair takes its oil from the skin it grows out of, and the ends are the last place that oil reaches. Wash with something aggressive and you strip it off faster than your skin puts it back; that’s the tight, straw-dry feeling by mid-afternoon. The cleansers here are made from coconut: glucosides and sodium cocoyl glutamate, an amino-acid one, gentle enough to be the only cleansers in all three of our washes. Sesame, argan, and prickly pear travel along and stay when the dirt rinses out. You still rinse clean. You just don’t rinse everything away.
How far the scent carries
You can wear Laurel & Incense the whole way through the day, and the wash is where it starts: laurel and incense with grapefruit over the top, iris and cardamom in the middle, vetiver and sandalwood underneath. The Laurel & Incense oil keeps it on the hair afterward, the matching moisturizer takes the skin, and the three of them come across as one scent, not a stack. Cool, dry, only a little sweet. It holds up at a desk as easily as on a Saturday.
How to use
A pump or two into wet hands, worked down to the skin, then rinse clean. Daily is fine. Put the moisturizer on before the oil, while your skin is still damp from the shower.
